Taco Truck
by Winter Yim
My fallen arches trace salty borders.
I seek relief in taco form, tastes of
Tulum, away from the tourist traps.
Lights, clementine ripe, line the awning of
a truck, sleeping on a residential street.
Comic Sans chartreuse menus, laminated
against chewed collateral,
rests upon
moon white plastic tables,
while the cook rests atop a cerulean cooler
and Mayan ruins.
What the owner envisions: a taco truck empire,
spanning México, los Estados Unidos. Regaining
the land conquered.
